pH7 Technologies Named Top Innovator by World Economic Forum’s UpLink for Breakthrough in Sustainable Mining.

Vancouver, BC (May 9, 2025)

pH7 Technologies is honored to be recognized as a Top Innovator in UpLink- World Economic Forum Sustainable Mining: Mining the Unmined Challenge, a global initiative spotlighting transformative solutions aimed at redefining the future of mining. This challenge, supported by Prospect Innovation, called for groundbreaking technologies across regions and industries to maximize the recovery of metals and minerals from ores and non-primary sources, reducing the need for fresh extraction to meet future raw material demands.

The mining industry is undergoing a major transformation. As demand for critical metals grows fueled by the global shift toward renewable energy and electrification traditional extraction methods are showing their limits. Traditional processing of sulfide ores is energy-intensive, generates significant CO₂ emissions, and produces substantial wastewater, all while often leaving valuable metals unrecovered due to inefficiencies. At the same time, environmental expectations are rising, calling for smarter, cleaner, and more efficient solutions.

pH7 Technologies addresses these challenges head-on with its proprietary closed-loop organo-electrochemical process. This innovative technology enables the efficient extraction of critical metals such as copper and gold from low-grade sulfide ore resources that are typically considered uneconomical and are often discarded. By integrating seamlessly with existing heap leaching infrastructure, pH7’s process can increase metal recovery rates by up to 50%, significantly reduce energy consumption by up to 90%, and eliminate wastewater generation. Moreover, the process produces green hydrogen as a by-product, offering a clean energy source for on-site operations and contributing to the decarbonization of mining activities.

“This recognition from the World Economic Forum’s UpLink platform isn’t just an award, it’s a signal that the mining industry is ready for real change,” said Mohammad Doostmohammadi, CEO of pH7 Technologies. “We’re not optimizing the old system; we’re replacing it. Our technology turns what was once considered waste into value, while drastically reducing the environmental burden. This is the kind of disruption mining needs, and we’re proud to be leading that shift.”

This recognition by UpLink underscores pH7 Technologies’ commitment to advancing sustainable mining practices and its role in driving the industry’s transition towards more environmentally responsible methods. By unlocking previously inaccessible resources and minimizing environmental impact, pH7 is not only enhancing the efficiency and profitability of mining operations but also contributing to global efforts to achieve net-zero emissions.
